Assemblage

  1. Journey Record: I love 80’s classic rock. This was one of my first records and my favorite. It reminds me of a part of my childhood where everything was bliss, innocent, and carefree.
  2. Giraffe Lamp: I collect Giraffe stuff animals, socks, miscellaneous objects. It’s my favorite animal. My last “childhood” stuffed animal became my favorite thing to collect. I never go far from home without a Giraffe. This Giraffe Lamp is named Sonny 🙂
  3. Artist Loft Purple Paint: I often paint a lot with purples! I know this brand of acrylic paint because it’s thin but not too thin, and thick but not too thick. It’s a great medium to work with, although I do miss painting in oils. I love painting. I started taking classes when I was seven.
  4. Photograph: Me and my parents. I love them but they drive me crazy. Although I often miss their company. They are the type of people you can go on a long drive with and question the meaning of life. I enjoy those moments with them.
  5. Eternal Sunshine Poster: This is my absolute favorite movie. It’s one of those movies you can watch over and over again, always finding out new information/easter eggs. It’s a roller coaster of a movie. It also has some of my favorite actors. Jim Carrey, Mark Ruffalo, Kirsten Dunst, etc.

I chose a bulletin board because I wanted to create a collage effect. I often love decorating my room and creating a mesh of different items that make me feel something.

  1. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is one of my favorite movies! Also, I like that this whole installation is fully hanging. It is even more impressive that you got everything to stay up on the cork board and not fall down.

  2. It’s really cool how you pinned everything to the cork board. I also like how you used red, blue, and yellow throughout your assemblage, and organized it so each got their own moment to shine (the red of the album cover, the blue in the movie poster, and the yellow in the giraffe). However, since there’s a noticeable open space in the bottom left corner, I wonder if it would be possible to pin one of the smaller items there, like the photograph or paint bottle and how that would change the composition.
