This piece is so interesting to look at. I love how the blocks are stacked, especially the ones above the slide-like sheet. They are slightly angled and look almost as if they were about to tumble down the slide.
I love the intricacy of the piece and the attention to detail that you took when making it. The add on of the boxes on the slide part in order to make the boxes flow into another part of the sculpture was a neat idea. If you were to add anything more to the sculpture maybe you could play around with adding some thorns to the under part of the slide or even the sides so that they cross into the coral feeling of the piece. I like the name you gave it in class too!
I am a huge fan of how expansive and intricate you make this sculpture. My favorite orientations of it are the 4th and 5th pictures you attached. You managed to incorporate the blocks of one section into the more expressive curves of the other (and vice-versa), which I’m sure must have been a challenge. Your sculpture’s depth in form really makes me want to stare at it for even longer, trying to find how every curve of the clay blends into such a detailed structure. I can’t imagine how much time this took to make.
