What is very intriguing to me about your piece is your use of various textures and depth to allow for the clay’s form to appear much different from each angle you have shown us. Something that may add more success to your piece is maybe trying to adjust the light in order to create cool shadows with the holes you made through your clay carving.
Your piece reminds me of coral. It’s interesting to me that some of the flaps are fairly geometric but others are very organic. It may strengthen your piece to enhance the flaps through changing the lighting or somehow having the horizon line interact with the canals.
