I like that you chose to pick such an important topic especially since this month highlighted sexual assault awareness. It’s interesting to me that you chose flowers because we often associate flowers with virginity and innocence so it gives me the impression that the innocence has been stolen/cut off. You did a great job tying such an understated but prevalent issue in our society into a nature setting. I liked what you mentioned in class about how it might’ve changed if you put the flower on the right side as we read left to right.
I love the message behind this piece and I think it really goes unseen throughout the world. I think the way that you chose to capture the image on an angle so that some stems were shorter than the others was a really unique idea and allowed for a clear interpretation of the message you were trying to portray.
